Sortwell sells home and office recycling, sorting and storage products only. We are a product retailer. We do not collect, transport, treat or dispose of waste, we do not provide any waste-management service, and we do not act as a contractor for cleaning, installation or disposal.

Our products are intended solely for non-hazardous everyday materials — recyclables, compost, paper, textiles and general storage. You must not use them for hazardous, chemical, medical, biological, flammable, explosive, regulated or toxic materials. See our Acceptable Use Policy.

All prices are shown in USD and exclude any shipping and taxes, which are displayed before you pay. An order is accepted when we send confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable or a pricing error occurs; in that case we refund any amount paid.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card statement will show the descriptor SORTWELL. By paying you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge the total shown at checkout.

Plus and Pro memberships are recurring subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in USD. Benefits (member pricing, shipping benefits and the quarterly refill box) apply to the current billing period and do not carry over. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through the customer portal and keep access until the end of the paid period. Memberships contain no credits and no stored or withdrawable balance.

Product dimensions, materials and capacities are stated on each product page; lifestyle images are for illustration. Kits that contain small parts (including the Kids’ Learn-to-Sort Set) are not suitable for children under 3 and should be used with adult supervision. Compost starter cultures list their contents and allergen notes on the product page.

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, or use it for unlawful purposes. Accounts require you to be 18 or older; buyers aged 13–17 must have a parent or guardian’s consent, and we do not permit accounts for children under 13.

Recycling rules vary by jurisdiction. Our sorting guidance and the Sorting System Finder provide general reference only and may not reflect your local rules. You are responsible for following the regulations in your jurisdiction. See the Sorting Guidance Notice.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our liability for any product is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for misuse of products contrary to these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
